In order to be safe on campus students need to lock their doors and close their curtains. Its the easiest and simplest way to be safe and prevent theft. To find out more watch this video.
Barker also talks about a few other steps that students can take that are not mentioned in this video. The one's in the video are locking your doors and not silhouetting.
But outside of this video clip he also talks about keeping your hideaway key in a real hiding spot. Don't leave it under the mat, around the door frame or in one of those fake rocks. He says its best to entrust it with a friend or trusted neighbor. Those other places are just too obvious and used by too many.
He also talks about avoiding phone calls with strangers. If someone calls your cell or apartment and they are harassing you or won't tell you who they are then don't talk to them. Immediately report them to the police. You can never be too safe.

Healthy eating tips
Kaitlin Prettyman
09-18-09
It’s the oatmeal guzzler again. Today’s health tip is going to be about eating. Going to the grocery store, out to dinner or stopping at the gas station all provide temptation for eating.
We go in these places sometimes without thinking to look at the calories, the protein, the sugar or the fiber. There is also the fact that restaurants don’t normally tell us the calorie count or the facts of nutrition—if there is any nutrition.
Did you know that a cheeseburger from McDonalds is 300 calories, with 750 mg of sodium and 6 grams of saturated fat? How did I know that? Not from doing some investigative reporting, not because I am health obsessed and not because I sued McDonalds for making me fat.
I found out from this great website called caloriecounter.com. It offers nutrition facts for practically anything and everything. It makes dieting fun and it makes eating healthy fun too! So, join us next week for the next fun healthy tip.
